For the more advanced dogowner here is one activations/mental stimulation that requires some childresns toys, a lot of treats and some time and patience.
Again I’m not after a flawless result but the fact that the dog does it and continues even if he/she doesn’t get it right at the first time, and it’s still a trick in progress.
I’m going to write some basic instructions on how I started to teach this tricks. I uses a clicker when training this.
I start with having the dog just picking up the larges ring. If the dogs knows apport or equal command this is done in one or two try. Then I, as you can see in the first clip, I help the dog to get the ring on the cone – and click.
Repeat it and help the dog to understand what it’s supposed to do. Putting the rings on the cone.

Then move on and let the cone stand stil (or almost still) and let the dog put on several rings on the cone.
